TA Cover w/Stud Kit So last week I installed my TA Cover and stud kit. Later in the week I notice a tiny leak out the side of cover...nothing major, probably would have never hit the ground but I ripped it apart yesterday to redo the RTV gasket. Now to the point. When I pulled the cover off to clean it I noticed 3 indentations in the cover...small but noticeable. Turns out that there is a very tight tolerance between the cover and the ARP nuts that go on the main caps. After torquing the nuts down to the proper spec, 3 of the 4 were indexed in such a way that one of the six points interfered with the cover. Not feeling this the first time due to the thick gasket I torqued it down and pressed those points into the cover. Needless to say I figured this out and clearanced my cover to eliminate the interference. So to all those out there with the TA cover and stud kit, if you ever have reason to take the cover off or have a minor leak...check this out. The nuts from the stud kit may not allow the cover to sit flush...and get pressed into the aluminum when torqued down. Just thought that you'd like to know. This on top of the fact that the bolts they sent me for the cover bottomed out in the holes before providing ample clamping force to the cover (They were about 3 threads too long).
