Do the bearings go in o-ring to the front of the housing or to the inside?
The o-rings should go towards the outside of the axle.

The bearing spacers are only used if you are running LT1 brakes. If you're running LS1 brakes (which use thinner backing plates), leave the spacers out or else the brakes won't fit. It doesn't matter how many splines the axles have.

You might be confusing the spacer with the press ring. See the picture of my axle for comparison:
From left to right in the above image:
Press ring
Axle bearing (notice the o-ring facing towards the outside)
Spacer (very thin metal ring, not pressed on, just smushed in place by bearing
Brake backing plate
ABS reluctor gear (3-channel cars will not have this gear)
Well, remember that the o-ring isn't the only thing holding the fluid in the rearend... there's also the axle seal. Moser's instructions say that the o-ring should face the outside. At least from looking at them, I would *guess* that it would be OK to have it flipped. But I'd ask somebody who's built a few to be sure.
