SY 4000 I am about to buy a used SY 4000. I was wondering how this converter is on the street with Nittos. How is the shift extension. Everyone say how efficient Yank conveters are, so I am expecting this converter to do good from a roll to. I am a full bolt on car with a Pig cam. Also is there any way i can get the converter checked out, to see its condition? One more thing what tranny fluid do yall recommend?

The SY4000 is freaking killer from a roll. It is also very effeicient. It is not a end all be all TRACK converter... but for a bolt on/drag radial car? It is about perfect for a street player.
Any tranny shop should be able to check it out.
Spin it around, look at it and see if it looks pristine and has not been dropped or beat up.
Make damn sure it is not out of a car that has lost its tranny. The verter will be full of crap and will need to be flushed out. (cheap insurance man)
