changing trans fluid Ok I think its about time to change the trans fluid in my car, I had it done a while back by the pontiac dealer but this time around i am gonna do it my self, I konw how to get the fluid out but after looking at it i aint too sure how i am gonna be able to get fluid back in with out removing the shifter? is that my only option? any tips or advise about changing the trans fluid? mabey a write up online somwhere?

Re: changing trans fluid You can go to a autoparts store and buy a tool that has a foot or so of rubber that is connected to a big syringe type thing. It holds approximately a pint of fluid. Then you can just lift the car and pull the fluid through the syringe type thing. You'll have to fill it up a few times but its not that bad. I filled the trans fluid and the rear end fluid with it. It made it easy.

Re: changing trans fluid Take about 10' of clear rubber hose and snake it from the fill hole in the tranny up to the engine bay. Then stick a funnel in the end of the hose and fill with tranny fluid.
