New Master Cylinder needed????
New Master Cylinder needed???? Going to put my Spec 2 in soon for the track and since I have a 2000 might as well upgrade the slave while I am in there. Is the 5144 higher displacement Master Cylinder needed too?
Only a Engine guy not a tranny guy. I feel stupid about all of this stuff, which make me feel bad.
So what to do?

Re: New Master Cylinder needed???? I'm running a spec stage 4 with a stock 98 master. It wouldn't hurt to upgrade but it doesn't seem to be necessary with the specs. I would recommend at least a stage 3 carbon clutch though. I don't feel a stage 2 is much more then a z06 clutch really.
Re: New Master Cylinder needed???? The Spec 3 will go in when I drop the Forged 347 in. I have a buddy with small mods and a 3 now and it chatters too much, so the Spec 2 for now is what I'm doing.
After smoking the clutch doing burnouts, I really just needed a better clutch and since the Spec 2 is a little bit better than the Zo6 which I see people burn up in stock 2002's I'll stick with it.

Re: New Master Cylinder needed???? I got a 00 SS w/the SPEC stage 2, i'm using the 01-02 Master with the 00 slave.
i had trouble getting in to gear with the old master, still after hours of bleeding.
i bought the 01-02 master bled the system a few times and the engaging gear difficulties were gone.
runs great now.
I didn't do the drill mod, either
don't buy nothing until you have to,
every situation is different.
