6 speed with a 427?
6 speed with a 427? Well, I finally decided on building a 427 cu in ls1 for my car (4.oo in stroke). Cartek is going to do the machine work and I'm going to assemble the thing. My goal is to run 9's with my current NX kit (150 shot). On paper, the power will be there, but I'm really concerned about running a six speed to acheieve my goal.
Is there anybody here that has turned a 9 sec time on a combo like mine with a six speed or will I end up running an auto??? I know that it will take practice, but my driving is pretty darn good (the N/A 11.8 was only my second and last run in the car with the current combo). I just want to avoid not having overdrive in case I hit the highway...

Re: 6 speed with a 427? Roman managed a 9.82 pass with his T56 ARE 422 with nitrous. It's possible, but you'll probably want someone like D&D to put some more bullet proof parts into it. Specifically the 3-4 shift fork. Beyond that it's worth a try until you break it!
Re: 6 speed with a 427? My current T56 has held up for the last two years. 3625 lb street car pulling 1.4 60' times on motor. Cartek clutch.
