Questions about swapping diff but reusing gears???
Questions about swapping diff but reusing gears??? Two bolts in my rear end sheared off recently. None of the gears appear to be damaged.
I am plan to upgradge the diff. to an Auburn Pro and reuse the stock 3.42 gears.
Is the above swap as involved as replacing the gear set?
Some people have told me that I can probably reuse the shims and the lash and pattern should be right.
I am on the fence whether or not I want to mess with it or take it to my mechanic.
