Default Best TCS convertor for max ET...

I am going with a TCS convertor, and I want the best ET that I can get with bolt-ons. I will step up to a cam in the future, but I'll get the convertor restalled then if necessary. Mikey recommended a 3800 with a 2.35 STR. Not to doubt him, but that doesn't sound right to me. I was thinking more along the lines of 4400 and a 2.7 STR. This would have the same stall speed and STR as a YTP4400 then. Does anyone know the shift extension of the TCS and how efficient it is up top? Mikey, you've said that you gained in the 60' and didn't lose anything up top...does that mean that you ran the same ET with a better 60' or you gained in the 60' and had the same gain in the entire 1/4? Also, was this on motor or nitrous? Thanks a lot everyone!

bigger isnt always better... 4400 is too much for you right now... try the 3800 or even 4000 first... restalls are free

Be careful not to go too big. You will run right through your peak torque to quickly. If you want to go bigger after more mods, just send it back for a free re-stall.

If you want the best ET and have the tires, get a 4000 - 4200 stall with at least a 2.5 STR. The best ET bolt on cars have proven that 4000 - 4400 is ideal. A bolt-on LS1 has a very flat torque curve through the 4000 - 4900 rpm range and does very well with up to 4400 stall. Almost all of the serious racers run at least 3800 stall and most run 4000+ (e.g. YTP 4400 or Vig 3600). Just look at those leading the bolt-on list. Lots of YTPs and some vigs (Vig 3200 stalls 3800) and a couple ST 3500.

TCS makes a good 4000 stall. I would look at that.
