Cost Of Gear Swap.

how much will it cost to have new gears put in. I have 2.73s and i got 3.42s just want a rough guess of how much it will cost for someone to install them the right way I dont think I want to mess with it.

2.73's go on a 2 series carrier
3.42's go on a 3 series carrier
there are special 3.42's that go on a 2 series carrier, do you have those?

If you do have the right gears, you will also need a master rebuild kit ($80) and install will be about $300 includeing materials.

I got the gears from a 92 camaro all I have is ring and pinion. I do have a rear end complete it doesnt have posi but has 3.23s in it. would thta have the parts I need.

The Carrier Case is what you are going to need. You can run the open diff but of course you will losse the positraction or we can set you up with a thick gear that will fit your existing positracion carrier.
