TCI Stall wont fit?

TCI Stall wont fit? my buddy recently bought a 2800 TCI stall. We go to install it and it doesnt fit so we are not to happy . He recently got his tranny replace by the the GM dealer. will that have anything to do with it or is it just a Machine problem with TCI?
