axle whine???

axle whine??? Hey I was wondering if i could get some knowledge on this issue. When I'm stopped then start to accelerate i here a sound almost like a loud whine from the the front left side of my car (near the axle) only for a second. I drove the car pretty hard yesterday at the races and started hearing it on the drive home... Any ideas???
1. axles dont whine
2. if you have an f-body, you dont have axles in the front of the car
wheel bearings dont whine, so im betting its your front brakes. does it sound like the pads are constantly making contact with the rotors? take them apart and have a look.
