2.73 to 3.73

Gear change went smooth,back lash .008.gear ride pattern real good. New ring an pinion 3series carrier from SLP an kit.Problem or not? Rear differental getting very warm to the touch.How warm is OK? I know that tighter clearance's was bound to make it run warmer than normal.It really sounds good,lots smoother than stock. Would like to hear any ideas about DIFFERENTAL TEMPERATURE.

The diff will produce heat, how much is ambient temperature dependant. It is normal for it to get warm. If their is a problem it would've let you know by now.

Just a side note, with those new gears, change your drive shaft from the heavier steel to the aluminum unit. I have read from other posters that the steel drive shaft will produce an anoying vibration, and hum at higher rpm's.
