Just thinking, as I do a lot of work on Subarus. And they have a very short 3.9 front diff ( and gearing overall because of that )
The non Jap cars uses a 1.1:1 centre diff and a rear 3.54 diff. So if you were to fit a front 3.54, and use JDM centre diff which is 1:1, that would reduce the overall gearing to 3.54.
The front pinion on a Subaru is quite long though, travelling the length of the box to the centre diff.
