Default Anyone think of running the aussie 9-bolt rear end?

Has anyone thought of using this rear as a cheap alternative to a 12 bolt? I found a site called 9-bolt.com that sells all kinds of rebuild parts for this uncommon rear. The reason Im suggesting this is that I installed a freshly rebuilt 9-bolt into my 88 formula a few years ago and am thinking of a swap to my 02 z28 if it's moderately stronger and I can fabricate the brake and asr hookups.
