Putting in 3.73's
The BIGGEST thing about rearends though is to be patient. If the backlash is "close enough" it's not good, make sure it's perfect. take the time to remove and adjust it as many times as possible. and if you're not sure if the gear mesh pattern is good, take pictures and talk to Scott at Driveline Solutions, a sponsor on here, he'll help ya out.
You might know this already since you say you've done it before, but use the stock shims at first with the new gears to see where you're sitting at. You usually don't have to adjust the pinion shim, but if you do you shouldn't need more then .005". Also while you're setting it up don't use the crush sleeve until you have everything set where it needs to be, that way you're not constantly replacing sleeves and trying to crush new ones. And one more thing on setup is to take the old yoke nut, grind/cut off the locking tabs on it so it's easy to screw on by hand, so it's easier to put on/off if you need to. Then when everything's good and done put the crush sleeve in and the new nut.
