Ok so if i have a series two carrier with 2.73's can i just buy a 3 series carrier and 3.73's and they'll work?

yes you can do that or you can buy a 3.73 gear made for a 2 series carrier...it will be a thick gear but it will work

What he said ^. I would go with the 3 series because the gears are easier to find and if you break them you can have another set fast without having to search to world for the 2 series gears. JMO...

buy the thick gears, dont buy a spacer
