Default Tranny fluid...

I have a tranny with a ST3500 that has about 23000mi on it. How many miles do you guys with big converters put on your car before you change fluid? Also a friend and I just rebuilt a 4l60E for his 93 4X4Blazer. This was our first time to do this. So far it works perfect thank god. How many miles should you put on it before its first fluid change?

Hey Mike, I set my guys up with trans temp and coolers, and tell them not to go more than 12,000 miles on the pan. Meaning to drain and fill and change the filter. If your running hard on the weekend dump the oil! Oil is cheap insurance. I don't think you can change it too much, monitor it carefully tho I don't know what your running. In the 4x4 watch out for water...water kills trannies. Congradulations on your first 4L60E, I remember mine ....it didn't work. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
