Is fabrication needed to make a 12 bolt work?
Is fabrication needed to make a 12 bolt work? I was inquiring about a new 12bolt for my car at a local shop and the guy told me I would have to get some of the brackets welded. Is this true or is there something out there that will just bolt right in place with no fabrication?
My Strange 12-bolt required absolutely NO fabrication or welding. The sway bar brackets are welded on before it leaves their facility, and if you want to use bolt-in lower control arm relocation brackets, those will work the same on the Strange 12-bolt as they do on the GM 10-bolt. Strange uses identical mounting plates as the stock GM rear for all of the suspension components.
Maybe they were talkin about weld in LCA relocation brackets. Thats about the only thing I can think of cause like others said, if it's listed for your year model it will directly bolt in. But you will need your stock backing plates unless you buy new ones with the rear.
