I probably came off a little arrogant on my first post, but who wouldn't? This isn't just a minor problem here, I'm going to have to swap out the housing, and it's a decent amount of work to do so. As long as they are willing to work with me on this one I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again. The way I see it is that you can't really judge a person (or company) until something goes wrong, that's when you get a real "feel" for their character, based on how they react.
Hopefully whoever you bought the rear from will get another housing out on it's way to you from Moser immediately. Please keep in mine that my opinions are just that, my opinions. Moser will take care of this for you. Bob

I love how it becomes kind of a threat with customer service when people open their mouth and say somthing negative about a product. He paid alot of money for the rear and expects the rear to be proper but, since he tells about his situation he get threats of bad customer service. Is that how you handle your customer service as well? I'm sure he will keep everyone posted when they resolve the situation and how they handle themselves.

The guys at Moser are people too, they are proud of this new rear and they have feelings also. Now this is all just my opinion, and remember I don't represent Moser. If you were in their shoes wouldn't this tend to ruin your mood just a little? So far 334 people have rear his thread about the op's M9 being garbage. That's all I'm saying, most people don't trash something unless it doesn't get resolved. Bob

Very understandable. A higher ticket item tends to make company's act a bit quicker, but it shouldn't, it should always be customer first. It does not matter if it is a .50cent axle seal or a $3500 rear end.

It sounds to me like a simple mistake somewhere along the line, no one has talked with Moser yet so i am not sure why the bandwagon is loading up. In the past Moser has made incidents right for us, i expect the same for the end user.

The biggest thing in a situation like this is what the manufacture does and how they do it. I would just give them a few business days to get you a new housing and go from there, if the situation is still not right, then you have every right to post your side of the story.

**** Bob, having my axle tube a 1/2" short sure did ruin my mood. You are all about Moser and THEIR feelings. Jeeze, I've tried to be as fair as possible while still expressing my feelings and you are here telling me I shouldn't be the least bit angry about the situation. I have clearly stated that I will post up about their customer service and how they correct the situation. I'm sorry but it is true, Moser sent me a defective M9 housing, that is just the facts, there's no way around it. I know why you care about this, because it could possibly hurt your sales. I'm sorry that I have told my story up until now, but I am just relaying my experience with Moser so far, I will continue to post as the situation develops, if they have halfway decent customer service this thread could boost your sales of Moser rears. I feel like some people have misunderstood me so far. Am I pissed, yes. Have I flipped out on any Moser reps yet, no. Have I said that Moser and their employees are complete garbage, no. Have I said that in this specific, isolated incident, that the M9 fabricated housing that I received did not have the correct dimensions (garbage), yes. Which is understandable when you have a rear end that is fabricated by a person, everyone makes mistakes, but when the fabricator makes mistakes and the quality control person makes a mistake, I get a defective rear end. I'm really not trying to start ****, I just wanted to let others know about what is going on with MY M9. If Moser hooks me up and their product works well I will be more than happy to post up about it, and put "M9" in my sig. I just wanted a stout rear end, that's it, I have no brand loyalties here, just want a good rear.

We feel for you bro. You are not the first to complain about their products, and to be honest you are 100% entilted to bitch about the situation. Bob and the EPP staff are good guys, but you have to understand that they have a business relationship with moser, have spent the last year or more pushing their products, and probably feel as if they have an obligation to stand up for them on a saturday afternoon post (since moser staff probably only work mon-fri).

The title may be a little misleading however, and mislead the cursory reader into believing that the actual product is of low quality. I mean, you are not intending to say that the m9 is a "garbage" product. It just wasn't made to your specifications, and you are understandably upset, but you still believe that the product, if made to your specs, is a quality one because you are still planning on putting it on your car. It would be like me ordering a peporoni pizza, and dominoes bringing me a sausage pizza. The sausage pizza isn't "Garbage", its just not what i ordered. The only difference being that I could suck it up and settle for sausage pizza while your rear end must be returned for the one with 1/2" longer axle tube. Ok, poor analagy, but you guys get the picture.

Poor analagy for sure. A rear thats too short on ONE SIDE is not built to ANYONE's specifications.
It's more like getting a burnt pizza, it has to go back and be remade because surely no one ordered it burnt.

That's exactly what I have been trying to get across. These dudes keep jumping on me for bashing Moser, but really I am just disappointed with this one housing, as that is all the experience I have with them. That's a good analogy, I like sausage almost as much as pepperoni, but my girlfriend (aka the Camaro) hates sausage (aka 1/2" narrowed on DS M9) so it just won't work. And to any "cursory readers," yes I do believe that the M9 will more than work for my application, after they send me a housing with the correct dimensions. I would probably need at least 500 more HP before I started to give the M9 any sort of trouble.

Lol. My girl hates sausage too. She only drinks 93 octane or higher. And she is really grumpy on cold winter mornings LOL!

Seriously, I probably spend more time with my than with the actual girlfriend.

You know, this high dollar equipment ships (at least mine did) directly from Moser to the end user. The middle man that I used to buy it never even saw my parts. I'm sure he made something off of the sale which is good but I can say it's a piece of **** if I want or I can praise its quality. I like the defense the vendors give to their manfacturers when someone has a serious problem. Less advice on what your options are to get a solution and more on being politically correct when adressing their sources for income. Screw that, a kid would fail a welding class for a mistake like that. $3500 should be enough for some level of quality control on EVERY part.

This forum is for our communication, good or bad. We write about our cars, our parts and ourselves. We love the vendors support and information but let people vent. Bitching to my wife doesn't help if I have a problem with my car. The people are what it's all about. Not your cashflow. What about this guys time invested? Nothing?

Is the M9 itself garbage? No, but the whole situation is. Unfortunately, it's likely a long way from being fixed. We scrape and save, wait and wait, then tailor our plans around projects like this. Then when we get screwed we are advised to speak nice.
Go screw!

$3000 is alot of money for an average joe and when there is a problem with somthing that cost that much it's a big deal. That rear is a hell of a rear no matter how you look at it and is capable of good things but there is always a chance of human error, it's how the human handle the error is what matters. This mistake wouldn't stop me from running one of there rear ends but, how they handle the situation might.

x2, WTF are you thinking Bobbo? $3,475.00 is a lot of money, I'd day the same ****!

Why don't we give this thread a break and wait to see how Moser handles it. Noone will will if everyone is at each other's throat. Bottom line is that an expensive rear end didn't get a quality, quality check. Customer didn't get what he ordered and it has caused him some lost time and personal labor and the headache of reassembleing his car with his old parts. Give Moser a chance to step up to the plate and take a swing before we call them out. I am not taking sides in this matter. This doesn't apply to everyone in this post and if it were me, I'd be pissed too. What if the customer ordered the rear through a local shop and was going to let the shop install. Who would pay for the labor since the part was wrong??

Even though I didn't sell this rearend, I called and talked to the head man at Moser this morning about it. He already knew about it and told me the wrong axles got sent out. Moser is going to send the correct axles asap. Bob

That's correct, apparently they have different length axles for the M9 and the regular Ford 9. They sent me the regular Ford 9 axles but they will be sending the correct axles with bearings out today before I send the ones I have back. +1 for Moser. M9 is not garbage, axles were incorrect.

Moser is overnighting them to you Justin, and including a new set of bearings.
