Gear Whine

Which brand of ring & pinions produce the least amount of whine. talking exclusively about 3:73s
other than GM. Thanks

I'd recommend OEM GM. I tried 2 other set and they were noisy. GM's are quiet and are strong.

The best gears in the world may whine depending on the quality or desired set up.

If you set your lash for the track, they whine.

Just installed a set of Strange 3.73 in place of the 3.23 and I have not had any problems with noise. I used the stock shims when installing the gears. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I think Lar's SS hit the nail on the head.
It;s in the set-up.
