Average Price of a Gear install?

Looking at possibly getting some gears for my car, I searched but couldn't find much. About how much is a gear install?

I think the norm is between $250-$400 including fluids. Mine are being installed for $350.

Damn, so I should probably just go ahead and look for a 3.42 10 bolt out of a 6 speed car then.

Yea, all the shops around here charge roughly $300 for labor only.

You could get a rearend,but if you want 3:73's it might be hard to find..Also,how do you know the posi works..They might say it does,but until its in your car,you don't know for sure. I am getting 3:73's installed this week..Most places said $400..I found a place that will do it for $250..I'm bringing them the lubes,gears and master install kit..

2 of my friends in CT got their gears installed in their mustanks for $200.. don't know about fluids tho. They also said the installer told them to come back if the gears whined at all. I'll be looking into this very shortly once i get out of school for the summer.
