New improved girdle

New improved girdle When shopping for a 12 bolt cover, be aware that there's a newer design that just came out. I got a generic alum. cover (girdle) with the cap support bolts. Everything is okay until I installed the panhard bar which hit the support bolts. Instead of grinding down the support bolts and possibly losing the allen holes to use it again, I opted for a newer Moser cover that has the support bolts recessed:

Just got it today. It came in a TA Performance Box and on the back it says "TA Performance" so you know who's really making these. I went on TA Performance site- www.taperformance.com/rearend.htm and found they starting to make this a new option for 2003:

Moser and TA seam to be the same price ($160). Might be a little more than the others but at least you don't have to grind the support bolts. I asked Moser about 7.5" 10 bolts but they said they don't make any so maybe TA will start to make those with recessed holes.

Re: New improved girdle Thanks. I never did like the other cover. It had another name at the very bottom which I never heard of and my 12 bolt is really a Moser axle so it fits. The older/cheaper cover has a duller finish too (not that you can see them anyway). <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
