clunk in the rear
clunk in the rear my car just started making a pretty noticeably clunk from the rear whenever i hit a bump or hit the brakes..i can not figure it out, it seems like most people get clunks under acceleration but mine is fine under load..anybody have some input?
A shock bushing gone bad? Lower control arm bushing? Torque arm mount loose at the rear? Exhaust isn't loose and maybe the over axle pipe is banging? Could be lots of things, although you'd expect to hear it on acceleration also. I had a torque arm mount break at the rear, but it wasn't really noticeable under accerlation, but under hard braking it felt like the rear was gonna fall out....

yea mine only does it to me when i launch from a stop. other than that mine is fine, so im just not goign to worry about it, but good luck with your noise, gotta love our axels/drive trains, and how paranoid we are about them. :O

also, check the panhard bushing. My lower bushing was worn out, so it would clunk on turns/bumps/accel.
pop the trunk and stand behind the car and grab each side of it. then move it side to side. if you hear the clunk when you do that, its the panhard bushing.
