synthetic trans & diff fluids What's the opinion about running synthetics in auto transmission and differentials? Good, bad, waste of cash? First hand experience? Redline a good recommendation? Thanks guys.
Re: synthetic trans & diff fluids Redline or Mobile 1. Synthetic trans and rear end fluid has proven to be worth about 8 hp on the dyno. This horsepower is due to a reduction of friction (and associated heat) in your trans and rear end. This is why the Corvette ZR1 had synthetic in the trans, rear and crankcase when new...the corvette engineers were burning up rear ends in under 30 minutes on regular gear oil at Talladega (during testing) and the synthetic fixed it (and lowered temps 30-45 degrees as I remember....at 180 mph). I have mobile 1 in mine....it's cheap insurance.

Re: synthetic trans & diff fluids Since putting Mobil1 ATF in my A4, I found that the end of the dipstick is way cooler than before;
