Trans rebuild It sounds like it's time to have my transmission rebuilt. I have over 74,000 miles on my 1998 Z28 A4. I'm curious to know what in all is done during rebuild, what parts? Would this be the best time to upgrade Converter? How much do rebuilds normally run? Need to get my car fixed. Doesn't shift like normal, feels like it has lost power, some noise during acceleration, that sort of stuff.

Re: Trans rebuild Hey Skipp, It pretty much depends on what you are doing with the car and what you wanna do. On a normal stock rebuild we'd replace your soft parts,(paper, rubber, rings, seals, clutchs, and band to name a few) and worn out hard parts as well as normal wear items such as sprags and roller clutch,and electronics, add a transgo s-k, and now would be a perfect time to up grade your t/c.If your at the strip alot or on the juice we'd address other areas with up grades and improvements, it really all depends what your wanting to do. Prices will run from 1700.00 - 2500.00, generally speaking for a complete job. You can find a better price but beware, better price isn't always a better deal! I hope this helps you.
