Default 2000 ws6 driveshaft

i am replacing the u joints in my trans am with a m6 i was wondering if anyone knew how to get the new u joints on are do i have to let a shop do it for me let me know thank u

You can do it yourself with a bench vise and several different sizes of sockets. The plastic that you will find in the u joint is a hassle to get out though. Bob

Get a propane torch and an lnfrared heat gun. Heat the old u-joint/driveshaft knuckles and heat to ~ 425*. Do not exceed 500* (almost hard to do w/ a propane torch). The plastic WILL squirt out when hot enough. Once it quits running out, let it cool and hit the caps w/ a socket and hammer. They will pop right out. New ones drive in easy. Place the inside lock rings and you are good to go. Very simple this way and will save you a few $. You can do it without an infrared heat gun. Just focus on the cap area then stop heating when the glue quits dripping. Good luck!!

Also, no new plastic with the new ones.
