Stud Size Question

Stud Size Question I want to go with longer studs. Currently I have the ARP 12mm studs. But they are too short to pass an NHRA tech inspection due to the stud not clearing the open end of the lugs. They finally got wise to me, with slicks.
I figured the best way to go is with some 1/2" studs....but what exact lenght 4 inches? 5?
I need to order these tomarrow morning, so please post up on what length of stud I should use.
Just so you know I am running a 15X10 Weld Draglite, with MT slicks on a Moser 12/33 spline rearend. 5/16 spacer as well.

When my 12-bolt was installed, the shop used the usual 3.5" ARP studs (1/2" x 20). I was left with this result:

Like you said, I want to stay NHRA-legal but wanted to get rid of those awful overly-long studs. After measuring things out with both my Centerline wheels (track setup) and 10-spokes (daily-driver setup) on the car I found that I could cut 1" from the studs.
With 1" removed, the studs still extend 1/2" out of my open-end lugs and they don't stick so far out with my 10-spokes on the car:

I still need to do some cleanup/polishing on the cut stud ends, but so far this is a BIG improvement.

Re: Stud Size Question Gorilla Lugnuts (Discount Tire is a distributor) has Chrome Lugnuts available in a few different lengths for 1/2-20. I just ordered a set of 2" long acorns to try and cover up the 3" long studs on my moser 9".
