Default Remove & Replace Pinion Seal Moser 9"

Having never done this before, could someone tell me just what steps to take to do this right? Also will I need more than just the pinion seal? This is a Aluminum center section that has leaked at the pinion seal from day one. The shop that installed the rear for me changed it right after the install, It has started to leak pretty bad and I am going to change it this time. Need help!

If it's been changed once and is still leaking, the pinion is probably scratched or gouged across the seal contact surface. You'll have to fix that or get a new pinion yoke.

If you have a solid washer in there I think you just need to pull off the yoke, replace the seal and re-install everything.

Well found the cause of my pinion seal leak, vent line was full of mud from wasp. I already had dropped the drive shaft, so I am going to go ahead and change the seal anyway. Should have checked vent tube first.

Damn I have tried all afternoon to get the pinion yoke off and have gotten no where, removed the drive shaft & pinion bolt. Just can't knock the yoke out, guess I'll call moser in the morning to see what they say.
