Suggestions on Posis?

Suggestions on Posis? I'm going to have 4.10s put in my A4 '99 T/A next week and am debating on whether or not to change the stock Torsen carrier out for either an Eaton; or, if they make it in a 7.5, a Powertrax. Anybody have any suggestions for me or experience with these carriers? This is not for ultimate drag racing use, pretty much just for street racing and for fun on street tires.

Re: Suggestions on Posis? Powertrax only makes lockers. Their "No-Slip", which I have in my 9 inch, is a locker also. The Torsen unit will be your best choice. Leave it in there.

One other question while I'm at it: Is it a good investment to upgrade the axles while it's tore down? Why pay for labor twice? Will I ever exceed the capacity of the stock axles on the street?

Re: Suggestions on Posis? Just save your dough and get a 12 bolt. I garauntee we will see you repost here after some time asking for the best place for a 12 bolt because your build 10 bolt <img border="0" alt="[bomb]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bomb.gif" />
Re: Suggestions on Posis? Don't even bother with the axles. It's the micro sized ring gear and carrier that will be breaking first. Get the gears, but save money for the 12 bolt or 9 inch. You will be fine if you're only using street tires. I gave my stock rear total hell while I had it in, and it never broke. That was on drag radials, and running in the 11's at the track.
