Stupid Moser fill plug
I traveled all over town trying to find a hex key or socket big enough for the fill plug but couldnt find it anywhere. I just ended up filling through the breather hole with GM LSD fluid and 3 quarts of 80w90. Is this allright?
What size is it anyway?

Re: Stupid Moser fill plug
is this a 9in or a 12-bolt? and the breather hole will be fine for filling. If its a 9in I used a 3/8th in ratched extension to remove the plug.

96zee,
I assume you're talking about the fill plug on the passenger side of the housing (if you have a stud girdle that'll have a fill plug too)? Is it a hex (i.e. Allen) or square?
My Strange fill plug (FWIW) uses a 3/8" hex head. You should be able to pick up about any hex size at your local Sears. If you don't know the size and you have nothing that fits, an old trick that has worked for me is to get some PlayDoh, spray WD40 on the plug, press the PlayDoh into the hex, and remove. Then take your "mold" to Sears or where ever and compare sizes.
