Need LU switch help FAST! (car is on the dyno)

I have a 2000 T/A with the original PCM. We are trying to make a manual LU switch to leave the TechII free for data logging so we can tune the car for max power but for some reason the switch wont work.
He is using pin 42 of the Red connector (tan/blk wire) and grounding it but it still wont work.
What could be wrong?
Any help ASAP would be apprieciated as the car is sitting on the dyno as I write this.
