Default Lowering the engine an inch?

What all would be required to do this? Some shorter motor mounts and maybe a modified transmission crossmember? I was surfing around the internet a little bit ago out of boredom and ran across the Magnuson Superchargers, and some idea's went through my head. The supercharger would sit too high in the engine compartment to clear the windshield on a stock setup, but if the engine was dropped an inch or so it might give the clearance needed. That'd be a nice cheap alternative for people wanting some cheap HP. On the LPE site they listed just the S/C at $1000 for the polished version!

Anyway, what are your thoughts?

Ummm the $1000.00 is an addition to the kit to have it polished rather than painted finish. Your looking at 6k+ for a GM kit polished there.

get a nice aftermarket k-member, modify it a hair. Shorter motor mounts wouldn't hurt. modified oil pan. There ya go! very possible. The thought went through my head a few times also. Next time your bored and sitting in front of your computer. Surf around the net and look for specs, parts, etc or transam series racers. they have got plenty of clearance under their hoods. Maybe you can dig up some of there k-member setups.

If you are going to lower the engine you might look into the intercooled setup for the trucks. You would have a lot more hp potental. My 5700lbs Tahoe turned 13.285@102.38mph imagine it with more boost and 2000lbs less weight.

The system on my Tahoe is a imtercooled Magnacharger it uses the same intake manifold and supercharger as the Lingenfelter C5 setup. It also has a heat exchanger samwiched between the intake and the supercharger.Look in Lingenfelter's truck section.

I guess I didn't read close enough.

Good tips Richie, I'll have to look into that.

whitt1, would this be a different system from the intercooled ATI and Vortech setups available for the F-bodies?
