Diff. leaking....

Diff. leaking.... I have a '00 SS, my buddy has an '03 Z06, my dad has an '03 Z06, my other buddy has an '01 WS6, and I just saw an '01 SS yesterday. The common problem they all had or have: Ring and Pinion is leaking. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Also, about how much should I expect to pay to get it fixed? (My car isn't under warranty anymore unfortunately whereas the others I listed still are).

Re: Diff. leaking.... If it's dripping, find out exactly where from and fix it immediately (front pinion seal, cover gasket, axle seals, where axle tubes meet the case, cracks...);
Sorry, I don't know the prices for fixing these
(I just like to do it all by myself

If it just looks damp (its not really "wet"), it's due to "seepage", so just check the level periodically and if it stays the same, there is no leak.

Re: Diff. leaking.... Is it leaking from the pinion seal or from the differential cover? I think it's very normal to have some seepage(sp?) coming from the pinion seal. But the diff. cover should be able to be snugged up so it doesn't leak.
Re: Diff. leaking.... It seems that about every GM solid axle I've seen leaks at the pinion seal and where the axle tubes meet the housing (assuming they haven't been welded).
