The tru trac can't take the power levels that a locker and spool can. Around 600 rwhp is about the limit that people have set for it. Some take more, some less.

Work with a guy that builds gears all day long for 30 years and I asked him about this. His response was not to run a locker on a street due to the unloading effect it has. Was told if you get on it hard on the street and then decide to get off and let it coast down it has the tendency to unload one of the wheels and at higher speeds could not be good. He said if you were to do this to always be ready to load the the rear with brake after getting on it hard. His recommendation was to run a spool between the 2 of these options.

This is not my opinion as I have not driven either on the street before, just trying to contribute to the thread from someone that has been doing this for a Cup team for over 30 years. This has made me choose a spool once I order my 9 inch. Hope this helps.
