Default Question regarding noweeds

Looking for some information.

Car is a 2012 Camaro with the LS3.

Current upgrades will be 1 7/8 dynatech headers with high flow cats and a CAI brand cold air intake. I would like to do EFI Live tuning for the modifications...

I will upgrade the cat back at a later time or when I have cash (don’t finance toys). Probably go with a corsica or dynatech. I want it to sound good, not be stupid loud (thus the noweeds).

I would like to put a set of noweeds exhaust diverters on the car. What is the benefit between a 2.5 cat back and the 3 inch? I plan to eventually put a whipple on the car, but this may be a year or 2 out (see statement above about financing toys).

Trying to decide if i want to do the noweeds now or wait untill i do the cat back.

Thank you for your time.

Brian

The 3" will pay dividends when you put the Whipple on. The noweeds is purely sound, it will not add appreciable hp to your car. I've never had them on but have heard that they may tend to leak over time, I stand corrected if this is not the case. Personally I'd put the noweeds money into the Whipple fund.

Make sure if you whipple it, remove hi flow catts especially the dynatechs, only took 2 months to kill my engine with these on, expensive lesson

I went with 2" primary headers because they offer slightly more power and are better for future upgrades.

3 inch full exhaust is the way to go. cat back offers no increase in power.

no weeds sound like crap with out a cam, unless you like the sound of a stock engine with an exhaust leak.

your cats will die with a blower, however I regret removing my cats completely. in hindsight I should have hollowed out the cats and left them on so during a potential roadside check by the fuzz, it would appear that the car has the legally required cats
