Default Buy used ls3

I'm looking at buying an ls3 with 35000km on it when it was pulled about 8 years ago...been sitting for all that time indoors.
anything I should be looking for when I go check it out ?

Is it a LS3 or a L99? Pull the oil fill tube and try to look inside. See if you can put a bore scope down the cylinders to look for rust.

Have a bore scope handy and pull the spark plugs to inspect the bores and pistons. Also turn the engine over by hand to make sure it's not seized up. LS3's have 6.2L stamped on the front of the block and came with 821 casting cylinder heads which had the hollow stem intake valves.

Most salvage yards that I have seen are getting 4- 5K for used LS3’s. I paid 5K for a low mileage L92 but would just buy a new LS3 crate next time. Why take the risk on somebody else’s junk?
