Default Almost there!!!

Its been 2 1/2 months and I can finally see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

I Just picked up my hotside and part of the cold side parts from my coater (Specialized Performance Coatings) in Arlington. Install starts Monday and some final fabrication on the compressors to FMIC tubing. Install of steering column gauge pod and Autometer fuel press gauge and Boost Leash boost by gear boot controller. Hopefully tune starts before the end of the week. Looking at 20 psi with 8# waste gate springs.

I loathe big cities BTW

I don't think bull is a 1/4 guy. Probably a mile guy though.

My shop just completed a couple CTS-Vs running very similar LSX 427 motors with this same custom fabricated setup and they each made over 1300whp and tq. They were at the 1000whp level at only 17-18 psi. This was thru autos, im still an M6

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...ugh-4l80e.html

Im going to run 8 pound wastegate springs so max boost will be around 20 psi on the BoostLeash controller. That should put me between 1000 and 1100 whp. My calculations also show this power level at this boost..

Im running 93 octane pump gas with a pint of Torco per 15 gallon fillup. Octane in tank is 96. Also running dual meth nozzles.

I could probably go higher but dont want to push it since E85 is not an option here.

Correct, not a 1/4 or 1/8 guy. I've spent 21 years going from 0 to 175 in 2500 feet, so the thrill is just not there on the strip. The mile is out of there also since my gear ratio is at 3.50 and my 19" wheel/tire combo max me out at 185 in 5th gear at 7000rpm. I could add back in the 20inch wheels and tires but would still be below 200.

Car has been setup to tear up the road course with the suspension/brakes/wheels & tires im running.

Its mainly just an overbuilt street car to get the occasional adrenaline rush.

Nah, 1100whp is not that much comparatively speaking. But it should be pretty fun.

Thanks Pat. It should be ready for the dyno mid week next week. James Karger is doing the tune. I hear he is great tuning with meth. I think on pump gas at this level i need to run the meth. I wish I could get E85 way up here.

How do you think the cam you spec'd for my D1SC will do with the twins? May have you spec out another if needed.

1000hp sounds good. A dyno pull is easy. Making it last for a 1 mile run is the trick.

Im geared too low with my wheel/tire setup to get north of 185 at 7000 om 5th anyway. Plus i have an assload of time on runways and not real interested. road course is what Ive leaned towards. My 8# springs and Boost least should keep it manageable on the track.

The 1100 is for fun on the back roads!
