Road racing
Does anybody think the new camaro is going to be a good road racing car? A car that is able to compete with the sti and evo? Or will it continue to be just a raw power car. I love how that GS looks

road racing against either one of those vehicles is comparing apples to oranges, either one of those cars would be faster in the turns because of the AWD, handling I MIGHT be good enough to make a race out of it if there are long enough straight aways.

The Camaro SS is supposed to handle as well as it's Zeta cousin, the Pontiac G8 GT, which has rave review for not only it's speed, but handling. I believe it was MotorTrend who's most recent issue did a test on all three Challengers (SE, R/T, and SRT), actually getting the SRT8 down to a 0-60 time of 4.6 with a manual.
The Camaro SS M6, with 422 ponies, and about a 100-200 less pounds should put up a similarly impressive time. The big car magazines are supposed to test the SS for the Jan issue(?) (according to the issues with their test on the V6 Camaro)

check what the cars you mentioned have run the nuremburg in and compare to the camaro. that should show stock for stock which would win

Naturally the car will run better with some weight reduction. But considering the chassis setup (50/50 weight distribution), solid tracking rearend, and big brakes....this car will hammer thru the turns quite well even at factory curb weight.
