Thanks that was one of the shake down runs but can't seem to get the tune right in it, Tried some other things and it died before I got to the end of the run but still run a 11.58 but only 116 mph trap speed, A friend ask me to get on it the other and the air was cold and man that thing felt like it had another 200 horses to the wheels with that cold air, Scared him half to death, I need a better tuner than me on the HPTuner I guess, Take care

Not taking sides here, but the laws of physics would say the manual would have to be faster (mph), period. However, a performance automatic (especially with a higher stall converter and/or tranny tuning) could absolutely be quicker than a stick.

Also, check out this G8 thread about upgrades and whatnot: http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42266

Now that it's 2011 and we've had a chance to put the auto tranny to the test, anyone care to share more details about their reliability in high horsepower applications? Would be interested in a 600+ rwhp build and hopefully the tranny could hold up under that level of power.

^^^^now that this thread is back on track^^^^

Once I got over 600 rwhp my clutches started slipping in the 1/4 mile and I had to rebuild. I know many others in the mid 600's who haven't touched theirs and going strong w/ many passes. Rear end will also start to lose posi track w/ sticky tires and high hp. Also had to do a quick clutch/spring upgrade to eliminate one tire burnouts.
