all I heard at Fbody Gathering by Scott was it would be competitive with the Mustang.

Now if they are over priced they wont sell like GM wants.. but if they have a 500HP Camaro for what the GT500 was supposed to be which was 39k org. I would think really hard and see if I could afford it. but that would be the only way I would spend high 30s low 40s on a Camaro.

That's the understanding I've got too. It should be something like:

V6 Mustang = V6 Camaro
V8 Mustang (GT) = V8 Camaro (Z28?)
GT500 Mustang = Camaro SS??

Bob Lutz made a comment when being interviewed after the unveiling of the concept at NAIAS that V6 models would more than likely start in the low $20K range, with V8 models starting just under $30K. I imagine that the top level models are probably going to be $36-38K.

I will not pay that much for a camaro anytime soon. Bob needs to realize base LS2=25k. And no more.

The cheaper the V6 or even I5 or I4 they can make...the better these things sell and the cheaper our V8's are.

$25K for the base V8 is reasonable if they offer a stripped down, no option vehicle like the 1LE. That is about the price of a base model GT with cloth interior. Figure $28K for a GT with leather and power options.

Lets see my 00 SS stickerd for $29,010. (no T tops). so i'm sure they will be more then that. I think low twentys v6 high twentys V8 (300-325hp) and about 34G's for 415-430 hp) SS. just a guess though. who knows they might even have a whisky option too.

My WS6 was $32,000 brand new. The middle class camaro has to be around that, with the insane 500+ hp one close to 40K, with the V6 around 20K. My prediction.

Base price of a 2002 Z28 was $22,830.
Base price of a 2007 Mustang GT is $26,020.
Add 2 years of inflation, I'd guess the base V8 Camaro would be around $27,000.

Wherever the price point ends up, at all levels it'll be comnpetitive with the equal-level Mustangs.
