Ls9
Might be a repost, but i thought I would post it anyway
I myself like the idea, but I dont think it will come of anything.
as long as i can get a ls7 ill be a happy camper.
although, i suppose i could live at home for a year after i graduate to save up enough cash.
make us happy GM.
a 1,000 hp car is bad news. you just don't need it. no one needs to be running 9's off the showroom floor. it's dangerous to everybody on the road.
again, i don't see this happening with an LSx series motor. they'd have to create some DOHC FI setup in order to pass emissions. they barely passed the LS7 and that only makes ~500hp. there's no way they're doing it with an LSx motor.

to many regulations, or they could put in a Ls9 capable of 900hp after some minor upgrades and tuning. But like it was said above...Its just wishful thinking.
the SC 6.2 liter however is another story. I could see that in a cobra eating SS camaro... if so, im buying one!!

where does it say 1000 hp???
They did in 1969. You could get a stripper with a 427 and very easily get into the 9's.
I don't believe that GM would use this motor but with fly-by-wire controls and heavy torque management this would be streetable. Gen IV electronics could easily be unmodifiable if safety was a concern. Encrpytion and the fact that you have the engine and trans computers to keep together... you could have a reverse engineers worst nightmare.
Hard coding some of the programming could make it to where modifying the traction controls would simply disable the car or attempting to remove/disable componets would also lock down the car.
It could be done...
Besides IF it ever came out I am sure the pricetag would keep kids and most un/skilled drivers from purchasing the vehicle.

lingenfelter made a twin turbo C5 with over 900 street legal rwhp. Its all a matter of whos willing to pay. If someone really wants a 1000hp car, theres nothing to stop them.
