Fuel question I'm not sure what V8 engine will be in the new Camaro but what I was wondering was whatever V8 used, will it be able to run okay on regular (87 octane) or plus (89 octane) unleaded fuel? Or will it require super unleaded (92/93 octane)? Reason I asked is not only because of current ridiculous gas prices here, but also because here in Hawaii, we are able to use certain vehicles for police patrol work in addition to the already slow Crown Vics. I used a 98 Camaro SS a few years backs until it got smashed on the freeway. At that time, we had 92 octane but a year ago the police department switch it to 89 max. I think this new Camaro would be great for patrol work as no one could really run from me when I had my 98 SS.
BTW, to replace the current Crown Vics, we will be getting HEMI Chargers for our next police fleet cars.

Gas is a growing concern of mine as well. I won't be able to shrug off $5 a gallon gas prices for any car. I don't even drive my new truck that much anymore. It seems like the "future" 30mpg law is already behind the times with the projected $4 a gallon this summer!
I'm sure it will. However, e85 isn't a long term solution. It's so gov't. subsidized that without all the federal cash the ethanol industry gets, it would be $5+ a gallon easy.
E85 does make a kickass fuel though. It's like everyday race gas.
