Just because they are testing it there doesnt mean it will handle well..... They could test a minivan there. Would you autocross a stock town and country?

^ Your post is retarded. They didn't test town and countrys on the ring... Cars that they test on the ring are tested there because it has a wide variety of corners and elevation changes that test a performance vehicles handling. It will handle, despite what you may think.

You are right I have had the pleasure to go around the ring in a not so stock GTO. It is unlike any back road you have ever been on.

Yellow lights are for european regulations. Here in the USA they are all red tails.

The question is will the production car actually have Brembos or will the 5th gen carry on with the usual crappy brakes tradition.

They will have the brembos on whatever model they are testing, why wouldn't they? Why would they go though all the trouble of putting them on there, testing, and then not offering them?

Looking good. Glad to see they are putting forth some effort to make sure this thing lives up to the hype. Finally we get some good brakes And the tail lights better both be red, that looks really bad with the red/yellow combo

Who cares? If you want a drag car why would you buy the more expencive track(with turns)-oriented Camaro?
Buy the base V8 model if you want a drag car...

The yellow lights are for the europe only models.

I would have to imagine GM tests several brake setups. That car looks to have a cage, as well. Doubt we'll see that in the show room. It would personally be surprising to me if the f body has better brakes than the corvette. But yeah, Brembos would be a major plus.

^^ +1. Maybe it will be an optional thing, or a Top Dog model option.

Although I think that even if the 5th Gen gets better brakes than a C6, it doesn't necessarily mean it will brake better. A lot of extra weight on these over a C6 Vette. We're looking at a potential 500lb weight difference ? 3200/3300lb Vette (correct me if I'm wrong there) vs. 37/3800lb Camaro? It will NEED better brakes to be competitive.

Supposed to be but for some reason people keep putting yellow on the back. They do that so you know which way the car is facing in the dark.

I am sure the fender regulations and Europe's tougher standards on front bumpers also have something to do with it. Europe requires that bumpers be made so that pedestrians can contact them w/o having to go to the hospital.

Don't they have to test 60-0 times? Why bother putting on brakes they won't use. It would be a useless test. Guess what the new Camaro will have for brakes (apparently).

The cage is for the safety of the occupants, they are running around one of the most wicked tracks in the world doing very high speed (wouldn't doubt 170mph on some straits).
These brembos will be for the top of the line model, and remember this is a 2010 car, the Corvette C7 might be coming out by then...
Also I wouldn't be surprised to see these being carry-over brakes from the HSV models that this car is based on.

lol... The brakes will be used for more than just "60-0 times"... Brake fade and feel is just as important. Its not about how quickly you can stop one time in a strait line on a perfect surface.

The top Camaro will have Brembo brakes just like the top Mustang and Challenger.

"GM is keeping tight lipped about what V8 will be making its way under the hood of the Camaro SS, but sources have indicated the car will get a version of the supercharged LSA motor used in the Cadillac CTS-V and Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. "
..... think they're just telling us what we want to hear?
