Default My Performance Prediction Of The Ss

I believe it will be VERY similiar to the Mustang Roush Stage 3.
http://www.motortrend.com/features/p...ang/index.html

Of course the Roush is expensive but hear me out.

The Roush will do a skidpad of .94 and the GT500 will do a .90
So expect the SS with a .90 to handle very similar to those.

The Roush Stage 3 has 415 hp, and the SS has 422 right? Very close indeed.
Motortrend pulled a 13 second qtr so we all know its faster then that so expect the SS to pull a 13 flat or better.

And on top of things they will probably weigh near each other if not the Stage 3 Roush weighing a tiny bit less.

So their you have it, its skip pad is around that of a GT500 but less then a Stage 3, and it has a bit more hp then a stage 3 Roush but 80 or so less then a GT500. But they all weigh the same except the Roush Stage 3 is the lightest.

Dude, you're really setting up for a flame fest.

I've learned that you can't compare a big HP blown car with a big HP NA car. The power curve characteristics are not the same. Plus launching a PD blower car is much more of a bitch than launching an NA car. But I guess we'll see how your prediction turns out. Just keep your fire retardant clothing handy is all I'm sayin'.

It would be nice if threads like these weren't really speculation...

How about just telling us what each generation F-body does, and what current similar vehicles are that are close to the new camaro's specs

Please learn what handling is, and what effects it, then get back to us.

They weigh the same
both rated at .90 on the skidpad
both with independent rear suspenion
both close in price Cobra was 31k
Same hp. Cobra really had around 420

You can't get a closer comparison then that. With a great driver you could pull a 12.6 on the qtr.

to be quite honest, you cant be too disappointed with the numbers gm is giving the camaro. 420hp out of a 376? going old school, you cant just give it like 500hp. the 69zl1 was putting out 430hp wit a 427. i think they are right on with specs. i like the idea. but i do think they could have designed it a little better, maybe made it a little lighter? i really think it looks like a slimmed down new challenger. those are nice. but anyway lets cut all the nonsense and just wait til the thing comes out, either way its a camaro, its gonna turn heads
