Angry Depressed....

So I was at the light yesterday on my way to school and....BAM!!!! rearended. I was pissed . I get out and the guy who barely speaks english (...or was like **** what did I get myself into) steps out too. I check the damage and it was not good. My exhaust needs to be replaced along with the back bumper. There's a weird sound coming from the engine too. Sounds kind of like valve train noise. So there's no injuries so i tell him to pull off the road into the parking lot 100 ft away on the right. And wouldn't you know it the little ****** ran!!! Just thought id vent a little bit...it's disheartening to see my baby in that condition.

ehh shitty, but could be worse...

bumper and exhaust only isn't that bad. hope you have insurance. dirty that the guy ran, but if you got a car description, and he's stupid enough to drive the thing, shouldn't be too hard to spot on the road

If the car was at driveable my first reaction would have been to chase. Sometimes I feel like I would LIVE for that moment. Who the F is gonna get away from me, a smart driver with a powerful car. My years of playing racing + GTA type games would finally pay off in helping me to not get boxed in and plan ahead. Hell I might even try a pit maneuver!

For sure someone here can look up plates right? What's the plate #

Just FYI the weird noise could be from the restricted exhaust if it is bent badly enough.

Stupid people, hopefully they find him!

If he flees the scene, then he can be charged with hit-and-run and/or fleeing the scene of an accident.

If you leave after being hit to chase him, wouldn't you also be charged with leaving the scene of an accident and then undo any insurance that you might get off the accident?

Chances are he didn't have insurance anyways. Best case scenario is they find him and he has to pay your deductible. Good lesson here, be sure and exchange at least the vital information before ever moving the vehicles. I guess you could consider me a NASCAR baby when it comes to accidentrs because by God I'm gonna sit in the middle of the f'n track until they throw the yellow flag

Hope all works out for ya, also a good chance to see just how good YOUR insurance company is

I own a bodyshop and insurance companies will do everything not to pay. If you chased him that give them legal right to stop coverage instantly. Anytime you are in a chase high speed or not it gives insurance companies something to work with, like non-payment.

I feel ya bro, last week I had my truck stolen right out of my driveway when I was a sleep. I only had liability on it and it hasn't shown up yet either! So I had to trade in the bird a couple days ago to afford a new truck. Time to slap a maggie on it.............

That really sucks. Unfortunately chasing him down would do nothing. He probably ran because he didn't have insurance, so the cops would get him, give him a ticket and he wouldn't pay it. Then nothing happens except a warrant, big deal.

That's funny that you said that, I got T-boned one time in my old Corsica by this old lady driving her old as 70s buick. She didn't stop as she didn't even noticed that she hit me. I mean my corsica was almost totaled and her buick only had a scratch on her chrome bumper. Anyways, I had to chase the old woman around the block and through a Tom Thumb grocery store parking lot. By the end, she got a ticket for leaving the scene of the accident, illegal left turn on a right hand lane and her insurance ended up paying for all cost of repair from the damages.

The important part there is she had insurance.
