Hypertech Programmer
Hypertech Programmer I'm looking at a Hypertech Programmer for about $80. Is it worth it ? I have a 2000 TA stock A4. I heard the programmer marries itself to the first car its connected to, would i still be able to use it if its already used on another vehicle ?

I bought one and then got rid of it like a week later. I was planning on selling the car at the time which helped my decision but I used it and it didn't do any good for me. It felt like it actually slowed my car down. It made my shifts too smooth. I think you should get some bolt on's and you'd be better off. Also, the programming has to be pulled from the car it is on before it can be used on yours. Each programmer can only be used on one car at a time...
i bought one on here from a member and it didnt work on mine! programmer says calibration not found. anyways hypertech wont do anything with it unless you have the receipt...needles to say i got f*ed!!

Maybe your set up gained some power but it definitely slowed my car down. At full throttle I couldn't even chirp the tires. The shifts were too slow and smooth. It was also supposed to turn my fans on sooner but it didn't turn on much if any sooner than before. It was a total waste of money for me. Maybe over stock it does better. I just know my car and I know how it reacted to me using it. I'm just going to get a custom tune when the day comes.
My car went sideway's when it hit second on stock BFG KD'S. It was already done to my car when i got it but next time i need anything changed i would spend the money and have it Dyno tuned.
