Okay, I need help from my LS1tech brothers and sisters. The part i'm looking for goes on the front strut. It makes a lip for the spring to sit on. I am trying to change from KYB's to Bilstein HD's and the piece on the KYB's does not fit the bilsteins, I need the stock part, which I no longer have, so I need to order it. I ordered a front strut insulator from my local dealership, but it doesn't look like the right part, it is thick plastic. The piece on the KYB's is thin metal. Again, this piece sits at the bottom of the strut and creates a place for the spring to sit. Does anyone know what the FACTORY would call it? Thanks for your help.

On the KYB it is separate, and Young at Byunspeed definitely told me to reuse the stock part. Though I was thinking the same thing. However, if you look at the Bilsteins, it is not on there, they are just the struts.

Both I guess. Hell, maybe that's why they're making so much noise. What I have right now is called the "Insulator, front sp" But I need the metal piece. I am using Eibach springs if it makes any difference.

Nobody knows the name of this? I really need to know what this is called so that I can order it and get my shocks in. If I can't find it, do you think that it would be safe to weld the KYB part to the bilstein shock, or is that idea just retarded?
