Default WS9 RPO Code

I found the WS9 RPO code on my 99 Trans Am and did some searching but couldn't find any concrete answers. All I could find is WS9-conversion/Formula. Does this mean my TA started as a formula and was converted to a TA or it is a formula?

Yes it means your ta was a formula all ta's like ss' start life out as plain formulas or z28's then they are converted into the latter. I think y82 mayb the option code for the trans am??? Not positive though.

All TA's and Formula's have the WS9 RPO.

"Formula conversion" means that it had been upgraded (engine, trans, brakes, etc.) from a V6 model.

Y84 makes the Formula a Trans Am.

WS9 just means the car is a V8 Firebird. W66, Y82 and Y84 designate the Model.
WS9 + W66 = Formula
WS9 + Y82 = Trans Am
WS9 + Y84 = Trans Am Convertible
