Default Dash Pad

So my 98s dash pad has a nice crack in it and needs replacing. I guess the part will have to come from GM. Has anybody got a link to help me out with the procedure?

Where is it cracked? The dash is two pieces and the piece closest to the windshield is a cheap easy fix.

It runs about 3 inches to the left of the speaker louver, from the padded piece to the windshield. It feels paper thin anyway.

Either replace it. . . . . Or get a dash mat. . . The dash mat is a bit ghetto, but it will cover the dash and you won't be able to see it.

I got a dash mat to protect my dash, so it wouldn't crack or get baked in the sun. Worked out well so far. Not the coolest thing around, but it will be nice underneath for some time.

no offense, but if you have a dash matt it defeats that purpose of having a perfectly nice dash because you'll never see it. kind of like when people leave that screen protector on their phones but the nasty screen protector looks worse than a few scratches haha. just my opinion.

Well when I get rid of the car someday or 10 years down the road it won't have cracks in it like everyone elses. Just my opinion, I'd rather keep it protected and I don't mind the cover look to be honest. I can just take off the cover and boom, nice condition. I don't really need to "enjoy" the stock plasticy dash anyways, haha.

Slightly less skewed than a cell phone protector. If you were smart, you would buy a custom cover meant for your devices, instead of the shipping peel off cover. Either way though, cell phones are almost disposable, sort of an iphone, so there really isn't much sense in protecting...

So like I was saying. How do you replace it? Do you have to take the dash apart or what?
