Default burnouts?

ok so i have a 2000 TA M6 with bolt ons, long tubes with true duals, 373 gears, and a monster stage 3 clutch with lw flywheel and i have 315s out back with sumitomo tires. My buddy has a 98 camaro A4 bolt ons, mid-lengths with off road y-pipe with 285 sumitomos on it.

Now when he does a burnout from a dig and just punches it he spins for a little ways but not that far then hooks. When i do a burnout and drop the clutch from about 1600-2k rpm my tires just melt thru first, second, and part of third gear. So whats the big difference here?

Oh and we even run very similiar times except that i have worse 60ft times but more mph?

A lot of it has to do with your transmissions.

dumping the clutch helps you alot, a4 cars need to brake torque the burnouts tbh, just punching it isnt really gonna help unless you have alot of hp

Several factors here....

You have 3.73s, and are shocking the tires with a clutch dump.

Your friend's car, being an A4, has either 2.73 or 3.23 gears. If he has a stock stall, it won't flash very high. His entire drivetrain is already somewhat loaded as soon as the car is in gear, unlike yours, which can be shocked with a clutch dump.

Also, you have mentioned your tire sizes, but not tire condition (maybe yours are older, have less tread, etc.).

Overall, I don't see anything odd about the differences you have observed (including his better 60 foot and your higher MPH). Frankly, it sounds like both cars are performing the way they should, given the conditions and information you have presented.
